Omo Valley 7 nights/8 days trip
Day1: Addis Ababa- Arba Minch
one of the main towns in southern Ethiopia. En-route, visit the Dorze village in the Guge mountain. The dorze are known for their tall, beehive-shaped bamboo house. If the base becomes infested with times, the entire house can be lifted and moved to another location. Overnight: in a hotel/lodge.
Day2: Arba Minch-Jinka
Take a boat trip on Lake Chamo and view some of the largest crocodiles in the world having sun on the banks of the lake. Hippos and bird life are also abundant drive. Drive to Jinka visiting various people such as the Gamo and Derashe. Stop at Key Afar’s weekly market (if you arrive on a Thursday) and wander among the various tribes such as the Benna and Ari that have gathered to barter their goods. Overnight: lodge/hotel.
Day3: Drive to Mago National Park:-
Early in the morinig after breakfast, drive to Mago National Park to visit the Mursi Tribes. The Mursi women are known for the clay plates they insert into their lower lips. If there will some more time after returing from the park, you will be given the chance to visit the Museum im Jinka. Overnight: Lodge/hotel in Jinka.
Day4: Drive Jinka to Turmi
In the morning after breakfast in Jinka, you will be driven to Turmi to visit the Hamer people who are very well known for the scarring of their bodies using clay soil to shape their hair styles and the unique practice of the so called “ Bull Jumping” which is a must for every young man that they have to accomplish prior to marriage. On your way to Tourmi, you will be able to visit the Bena and Ari tribes. Overnight, in Turmi in Lodge/Hotel.
Day 05: Omorate excursion:
Excursion to Oomrate to visit the Dassanech people and the surrounding area. In the afternoon after the sun gets less strong, you will be driven back to Turmi. Overnight, in a Lodge/a Hotel
Day6: Turmi to Konso:
Drive to Knoso the one which was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage site. These people are highlanders who are known for the ancient and complicated terraces thar encircle their well planned villages. Overnight, in Konso village in a Lodge/ a Hotel
Day7: Drive Konso to Hawassa:
Drive to lakeside of Hawassa in which you would be able to see the well known fish market along the lake shore and the city itself is well planned in compared to other cities in Ethiopia. Overnight, in Hawassa in a Lodge/ a hotel
Day8: Drive Hawassa to Addis Ababa
Alternatively you would be able to visit the fish market in Hawassa in the morning session and keep driving to Addis Ababa making stops along the rift valley lakes. You would be offered a day use room in Addis Ababa to get ready to depart your home.
